Xy%Z&4h*dl#k8w Today, I had my most unlucky/angry day in Paris! I've finally experienced something that many visitors have experienced here... I got my camera and metro pass stolen!! @.@
Let's start by telling you the plan of my day. I wanted to go to the Kookai Destockage store and then visit Les Halles (underground shopping mall) since it was close by. Then after, I wanted to go to a store called Colette, well-known store in Paris which sells "cool stuff". So my unfortunate adventure happened at Les Halles. A colleague from Montreal told me I had to go to the Bershka store, cuz it sells cheap and nice clothes. There was a store at Les Halles. So when I got in the store, I took a little tour, tried on 2 shirts, chose one, then went to the cashier to pay. Got out, was a bit hungry, went to a pastry to buy some food, then realized my right pocket was a bit lighter than usual. NO WAY! Usually, on the right pocket of my jacket, I carry my keys + metro pass + work pass + camera. I only had my keys left in my pocket (luckily, this was the most important thing). I then rushed back to Bershka, went directly to the cabin, but the lady in charge of the fitting room said she did not find anything (btw I always check if I forget something before leaving fitting rooms) Then went to the cashier and they said they did not find nothing neither. Ok.... I disappointedly wrote down my cellphone number and handed in to the salesperson hoping they will find them later. Then I start searching everywhere in the store like a crazy women looking for her cat... and guess what, I FOUND MY WORK PASS! Ok.... that means for sure I lost my stuff in this store... but why is it on the floor under a rack of clothes?.... My guessing is that the thief stole my stuff and seeing the work pass is useless, he/she/they just threw it on the floor, and kept my camera and Navigo pass.... I was so so mad!! And the first thing I was thinking was "No more photos for my blog!" >.<
After that, I went to the metro station which is not too far, and I lined-up for an hour to redo my pass. Since they have my profile in the system, they just disactivated my old card and reissue a new one for me, with a charge of 8 euros. That's not too bad... but my CAMERA!! I bought it a few weeks before leaving especially for this trip! And I loved it so much since it was very light and had a long zoom and can take panoramic photos! :( I've told my cousin already and she's gonna pass me hers on Monday... I guess I'll have to wait for boxing day for a new camera or maybe the day when I'm gonna purchase my first I-phone...
I've heard many pick-pocket cases in Paris, and I have never thought I could be a victime... I am a pretty careful person, I don't understand how people can do that... And what do they want to do with my camera, sell it? but they don't even have my charger! Anyways, I'll treat that as 破財擋災 (google translate: "Even bankruptcy stop flooding"... haha so bad! For the non-chinese speaker/reader, here's Alice's translation: "losing money to avoid a disaster to happen")
Chérie, c'est pas grave! L'importance est que tu es correct et que tu n'a pas été blessé. Peut-être tu es blessé maintenant mentalement, alors je vais te réconforter un peu. Une caméra est juste un petit bien de ta vie! Pas grave, je vais t'acheter une autre.
ReplyDeleteAlors, à partir de maintenant, ta leçon est d'être encore plus vigilant. Lorsque tu m'a appelé et tu m'annonces que tu t'es fait volé, je me suis dit: SVP pas ton passeport. Alors, quand j'ai entendu que c'est ta caméra, je me suis dit que c'est pas pire.
Durant les 2 semaines que je serai à Paris, je serai ton «bodyguard».
Chérie, tu sais quoi, j'ai aussi volé quelque chose à toi... J'ai volé ton coeur!!! J'espère que tu sens mieux et d'oublier cette mésaventure.

My dear, I love the way you type xy%z....., it means you are angry and mad! But at least you will feel better after that. I know you are a very careful person, but those are professional pick pockets people, it is hard to avoids, like you said 破財擋災, you ok , plus you still have your money, that's lucky already! From the blog, I can picture the way you are in the shopping mall, the upset, mad and angry faces, but no matter what, you still are my pretty and charming daughter. :( :( :( i'm so sad this happened to you. i'm really glad you still have your keys and that the dude left your work pass and that you were able to cancel your old pass (take that stupid thief!). for now, you can take pics with your phone. i did that for a while in korea. it's nice you're still thinking of your blog (we can deal with no pics!). i hope you haven't lost hope in the city of lights. your (other) darling is coming to see you soon. :)
